Pick Up? Or Truck?

Annie, Patty and I bought a truck! Well Dad calls it a pick up..... Anyways.
On Friday evening we drove to Johnson City to our grandparents house. The girls stayed the night there while the boys and Mom and Dad went to a hotel. The next morning we got up, had a big breakfast and then got ready and drove to Austin to see the Lippizanner Stallions.
The Lippizanners were really neat to watch!
Before we had gone to Austin we had been talking to my grandpa about it and he said he was looking for someone to buy it. We joked about buying it but we weren't really serious. Then on the way to Austin we talked more about buying it. We decided to make him an offer for $1500. We would take it home that night and he wouldn't have to worry about insurance, registration, Inspection(which needs to be done), Or fixing the speedometer and a couple other little things he was going to do before he sold it. He said he would have to think about it. We went back to their house to look at it a little more and talk over it some more. Then Annie, Patty and Dad went to fill it up with diesel and they met us at the restaurant. We talked about it some more and then wrote a $1500 check. YAY!!!
Its a 1991 Dodge Turbo Diesel Flat bed Stick shift pickup truck. It has AC and heating but they only work moderately well. No radio or CD player, (we might get one) My dad and Annie and Patty who have driven standards before said that this one is pretty easy to drive and hard to kill. I learned to drive it yesterday. It needs a little fixing up, the speedometer doesn't work, the front end needs allignment, and it just needs a good tune up. But all in all its a good pick up and we are very excited about it.

A Chocolate Chip Day!!

Yum!! Except the chocolate chip that your thinking about is not the chocolate chip that I'm talking about.
Heres a picture to clarify:
Meet Chocolate Chip

Chocolate Chip is a miniature horse that our grandparents gave us. He needs a little attitude adjustment but lol don't we all? He has done so much better since we have got him.
Patty and Chip having a standoff. Chip eventually realized Patty was boss and not him.

So far he has lots of nicknames including(but not limited too lol) Chip, Chip Dip, and Chipper. He is not friends with the other horses yet but we are working on that. But in the meantime he is down at the pens which means we have to feed him and bring him up for water every day. But leading him up and back twice a day should speed up his training and attitude adjustment. lol.

Ace was dissapointed that he wasn't the center of attention

Ain't he cute

The Racoon

Yesterday morning we had a lot of excitement around the house. Patty, Joshua, Joy and any number of little kids went to get Nickers to wash him. Patty was planning on washing him by the pool and when she brought him over there he you could tell that he really did not want to go over there. Rowdy was also over there and barking Patty and Joshua looked around and finally looked up in the tree and saw 2 racoons. Patty went to get the gun, Joshua took the horse a little ways away and Joy came in the house to get the camera and me. We all went out there and Patty stood around and stalled for a little bit and finally when she was going to shoot .......The Woodley's came driving up for LTG. So while Regina unloaded kids Patty finally got up the nerve to shoot. She shot, and shot and shot, Patty probably shot at the racoons like 20 time and hit them like 2, in the process she wounded one and it climbed out of the tree and ran away. So we switched to Joshua with out much luck and finally Mommy said that it was enough and she took over and finally killed it. Then of course we had to knock it out of the tree and have a science lesson. So here are some pictures of the day.

For Patty

Patty has requested that I post pictures of Ace(her horse) and Buddy( the pet deer). So here are pics for Patty.

I thought this picture was funny. We had a bowl of watermelon and told the kids to go get bowls so Dad went and got a bowl too. Bad lighting I know but if you can't tell its a big serving bowl that he has. LOL
